for Marlborough Town Board Council Seats on November 4!

EARLY VOTING RELOCATED TO HIGHLAND AMERICAN LEGION
84 Grand St, Highland, NY 12528: Oct 25 – Nov 2

Meet Dan Heavens

I’m running for Town Board because I believe in the power of local government to make meaningful, lasting change in our everyday lives. Our town deserves thoughtful leadership that listens to residents, supports responsible growth, and protects the character of our community. I want to ensure that decisions are made with transparency, fairness, and a deep respect for the values we share. With a focus on improving infrastructure, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and supporting local businesses, I’m committed to a vision of Marlborough that works for everyone.

I believe that strong communities are built on trust, communication, and collaboration. I’m running not just to represent, but to serve truly; bringing people together to find common ground and move forward on the issues that matter most.

My wife Jacqui and I are raising our three children in Marlboro and own Nightingale Farm and Quartz Rock Vineyard together. I also work as a director for a consulting company in capital markets. I currently serve the community in several capacities: President of the Marlboro United Soccer Club, Assistant Scoutmaster in Boy Scout Troop 72, Den Leader in Cub Scout Pack 73, President of the Mid Valley Growers Coop, Board Member of Ulster County Farm Bureau, Board Member of the Hudson Valley Research Lab, Board Member of the Shawangunk Wine Trail.

Don Smerdon

I am one of your candidates for Town Councilman this November. I have lived in Marlborough since 1970, and I have raised three sons here. I have owned and operated a service business, retired from Central Hudson in 2008 as a supervisor, and presently own Milton Apiaries, LLC.

I now serve as the director of the Holy Trinity Mission Food Pantry in Highland, where approximately one hundred people receive food every Saturday from Highland, Marlborough, Port Ewen, and several other local communities. I am also active in three other organizations.

Our town in fifty years has had a population growth of over thirty percent. We will continue to grow as the post-pandemic migration from large cities continues. With many new projects beginning in the coming weeks, I believe my management and business skills, along with my ability to listen and question all topics brought before the board, will benefit the well-being of all  members of our community.

I can only offer my service to you if you support me.
