Marlborough Democratic Committee member Brigette Supernova took an enormous step in challenging the incumbent town justice. She, along with campaign co-leads Paul Ellis-Graham and Mici Simonofsky and over a dozen dedicated volunteers, ran an impressive, substantive campaign. The amount of support she received from the town’s Democrats and many Independents is nothing short of encouraging and motivating.

Marlborough Democratic Committee members, Town Supervisor Al Lanzetta and Councilman Howard Baker, are doing amazing things for Marlborough.
If anyone has visited the Milton Landing South Pier lately, he or she might have noticed the work construction crews have been performing as part of the waterfront revitalization efforts. We thank Mr. Lanzetta for his stewardship in the effort.

Town Councilman Howard Baker and MDC member Barbara Arindell both sit on the Marlborough Police Reform and Reinvention Committee (along with several other town leaders and citizens). Marlborough's Reform Committee is a response to Governor Cuomo’s June executive order calling for local governments to adopt policing reform plans by April 1, 2021.
According to the “Resources & Guide for Public Officials and Citizens”, the collaborative process should:
“Review the needs of the community served by its police agency, and evaluate the department’s current policies and practices;
Establish policies that allow police to effectively and safely perform their duties;
Involve the entire community in the discussion;
Develop policy recommendations resulting from this review;
Offer a plan for public comment;
Present the plan to the local legislative body to ratify or adopt it.”
The committee is still seeking public input. Those interested in suggesting proposals should contact Howard Baker at hbaker@marlboroughny.us.

The new Marlborough Nature Trail is now open to the public! The project was amazing private/public partnership to offer more outdoor recreation. The trailhead is sandwiched between St. Mary’s parking lot and Christ Episcopal Church, on the east side of Route 9W. There is parking nearby, and leashed dogs are welcome. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on December 6, 2020 at 11:00 am.

On December 14, 2020 local leaders and citizens came together, along with some Marlborough and Highland law enforcement officers, to honor officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty this year. The lighting of the Blue Light Tree is an annual tradition open to the public. Special thanks to the Town of Lloyd officers who joined our Town officers and to Officer Fulton for his faithfulness to this event.
